Light vs. Dark Screenprint
If you follow me on social media, you’ll notice I tend to do a lot of geometric and pattern designs. Most aren’t conceptual, just abstract expressions of form. I’ll keep doing those designs, but I’ve expanded into art pieces with more narrative elements in them, starting with this piece.
I think a lot about how convoluted life can be, and often how hardships befall us and we don’t always know how to handle it. In my experience, these are the times that force us to grow as human beings, as well as the times that allow us to truly appreciate the beauty in life. Both light and dark are needed to give meaning to our existence. Or as Ursula K. Le Guin says (better than I ever could):
“There must be darkness to see the stars.”
