Took my first trip to out to southwest Texas. Surprised at the beauty of the countryside, but maybe I shouldn’t have been. This is a big state.

Been laid out by a little virus this past week, so I’m a bit short on images. Most excited, however to get my new collection of brain food in the mail. I’m having to revise my earlier proclamation that print books are now out of my life. Mmmm, not so much. I like being surrounded by them, drawing on them, feeling their weight while I read. I love my iPad, but print still has staying power.

Great danes are such majestic looking creatures. I’m still surprised how gentle most of them are. Even in spite of complete cruelty. Two pics here are of Wesley, who was found after a witness saw him dumped out of a car in Alton, TX. Some wonderful volunteers at Paws of Austin are nursing him back to health.

Trying a new layout to show Instagram images. Also showing some older shots that I took with my Nikon. Photos shot on higher-end equipment, then posted to Instagram have kinda irked me in the past. I have to remind myself that people are using it for a multitude of reasons and not to worry about comparing my photos with others.
